Default Speedline rims vs. WS6 rims

I have a 2002 TA with speedline rims. I have noticed that some 2002 TA owners replace the speedline rims with WS6 rims ('98-2000). Do most owners prefer the WS6 rims over Speedline rims? Opinions???

I certainly do. I own a 2002 (non-ws6) but when it came time to do the hood, I traded a real set of c5 Z06 rims straight up for a set of older WS.6 Rims and never regretted it.

its personal preference. i prefer the WS6 rims...except my car is a 98 WS6 so it had them.

only thing i wish is someone would make them in a 18in DD....omg. im trying to retain factory looks to my car, but like the looks of 18's...and dont want corvette wheels...too overdone...

A lot people didn't realize this, but those wheels were first used on the '95 - '97 Comp T/As.

Idk it really depends. I like the speedlines a lot, but I also like the older style WS6 rims that I have. I'd like to have a set of both The only problem with the older style rims is that they peel, which sucks.

They're not called "WS.6"s, y'all. Both sets are WS.6 wheels. The 96-00 set are called "Sportlines" and the 01-02 set are called "Speedlines." Also, some '01s got the leftover concave, thin-spoke Sportlines.

Not that it really matters, just sharing some friendly info.

I like the Sportlines but I ended up buying the Speedlines years ago. I stripped them to get them to shine a little bit. If you want to know how to strip the wheels, do a search.

I think the Speedlines are some of the best looking stock wheels. I had a friend who had the rears widened to 11s in the and they looked SICK.

^Dayum, think I will be stripping mine this summer! Can you strip them while the wheel is still on the car?

Lets put it this way, I see at most times guys giving away Speed Lines for almost nothing vs having to pay anywhere beteen 80-125$ per rim (dep on condition) for a older Style WS.6 so I guess thats an answer you can chew on.

If my Speedlines looked like these, I probably wouldn't have started this controversy!

Speedlines look just awful IMO...98-00 style is much cleaner looking

My speedlines were peeling, never really liked them anyway. I like the older style alot better. I'd love to have some sportlines on the front narrowed to 4" or so, and the rears widened to 11".
