Lowest profile on salad shooters.
What's the lowest pro ever to be stuffed onto salad shooters?
Just wanting to keep in mind. What to shop for next. I dont see F1's in lower than 45 for 16's.
So im guessing another tire brand will have to happen.

....So you want tires with a smaller diameter? Why??? Your car will look like **** with low profile tires on 16" rims(WAY to much tire to fender gap), get some bigger rims if you want less sidewall. Unless you were talking about getting wider tires, but the stock size is pretty close to the limit for the skinny (and very ugly) salad shooters.

such hate for the old salad slicers...but yet nothing looks sweeter than a cherry factory oem stocker thats original all the way down to the shooters. nothing.
some of the best looking 4th gens are the cleanest oem pieces.
They're not for everyone....but they are NOT ugly. for factory i think they're alright and better than later years...thoz minivan 5 star stockers on later years...??? no thanks...ill take the salads any day. or the firebird jammies....? ill slam stomach first into a fence and puke my brains out b4 running thos. Salads are not ugly.

eggzactly all non replies to the question in op.
opinions about a wheel were not solicited.
its a relatively fuggin easy question to answer or simply not.
whats more fail is the douches that took time to participate and posted nothing really. thats just epic.

Those wheels should be wider than stock....your not going to run a lower profile?
Are you dropped any?
i would guess you should be able to go down to something in the 35-40's.
I think the stockers will do 40-45. But the tire itself is not that popular in 16.

to go the same width with a 40 series tire "245/40/16" the tire height would be 23.7 inches and to go down even further to a 35 series would make it 22.8". Stock size is 25.7 inches. a 45 series is the closest thing to stock and its still over an inch shorter at 24.6".

op, do you understand that you will not be closing any fenderwell gap by running a lower profile tire? You will in reality make the gap appear larger which I assume is quite the opposite of what you are hoping to accomplish. I would lean towards thinking that running a larger overall diameter tire would in fact appear to close the fender gap somewhat for you.
good luck, in the end its your car so do what you will
BTW I also run stock 16x8 wheels and am currently running a 255/50/16 which would look great on a slightly lowered car and also gives you just a little more width over the stock size tire as well.

why the heck would you want a smaller profile? or are you just curious as to whats the lowest which won't benefit you in no way lol
is this for another car? hence why u want to know of a smaller profile
is it for a daily driver? comfort level will drop with less profile you'll feel every damn bump, crack, rock in the road lol

but im not into the cosmetics as much as I want the more width or patch on the road and shorter sidewalls...im looking to squeeze a little more handling out of the next set of tires should I need to run the ok-good looking stocker wheels through 1 more set of tires before i upgrade. So yes thanks for the heads up on the fender gap ...i wont lie i hadnt realized that...and I will weigh that in.
But the 245/50 on my current set have in my opinion a little too much sidewall. And if I have to live through 1 more set of tires on the good old salad shooters I was wondering what they max out in the low pro side cuz im into handling. But judging from your valid input maybe a ***** to the wall max out would affect enuff the cosmetics to be an eyesore.
But I still want to know this simpleton torturish unimaginable blasphemish fuggin detail while disregarding for a moment the eyesore.
Thank you tho....255/50 gives more patch on the road than 245/50...but u have a little more sidewall no ?
I like the F1's but i dont see them in lower than 245/45 so it interest me to know my options ahead of time so maybe just maybe I can join the plethora of aftermarket wheel owners(without becoming a douche)earlier than I thought if i can not strike any kind of a balance between a little less sidewall and the 16's for one more round of tires.

Also, after reading a few of your posts, do you even know how tire sizes work? You sound like you want to get wider tires; a 245/50R16 is exactly the same width as a 245/40R16 or 245/30R16, the first number is the width. Going with a lower profile will just give you the same width with less sidewall and more fender gap, which is the last thing you want if that black car is yours.
