295-50-15's on 15x10's?
I am looking for street tires for my spare Pro Stars, I am leaning towards 295-50-15 radials since they are:
Was Bizzatch running some?
- cheap
- about 27 inches tall
- and will handle good on the street.

why not the common and pretty cheap BFG DR 275/60/15? since you run a 28" tire (atleast i am assuming at the track) it would be a perfect match for shift points as well. i doubt you care about tire life.

255/60/15s on 15x8s here, turbo tech GTs, 65.00 a tire if I remember. I tore up a set of 275/50/15 nittos with about 500 miles of street driving with the spool @ 150.00 a tire - screw that. Honestly the nittos dodnt hook worth a crap out of the hole and neither do these, I really cant floor it all in 1st or in 2nd up to 50mph or so but they arent much worse then the nittos were. Plus these dont sling rocks all over and are safe in the rain.
Plus the added benefit of chirping the tires so loud in 2nd and third it scares people next to you in traffic - not to mention some hefty black lines like real tires should make. Its just like being in high school again - the ET streets are nowhere near as fun as these
I would go with the 295/50/15s if i had 10" wheels, its not going to hook with any radial anyhow so why chew up expensive drag radials..

Yep, its going to be a tire spinning mess with that much power no matter what so may as well save the money. Honestly this thing doesnt drive all that bad with the metric skinneys in the front and the regular radials in the back even with the spool. The nittos chattered real bad around corners and all the rocks they picked up just tore into the tires, bfgs would be even worse. I bet I will never wear these things out unless I enter a burnout contest or two..
If I am going out wanting to mess around on the street its easy enough to bolt the ET streets/drags on

I will have the 295-50-15 regular radials in a couple of weeks once I have the car back from the chassis shop. I need to put some driveability back in the car.

I am also wanting to run the 295-50-15 tires on a 2001 WS6 and was wondering how much the front of the inner fender well will have to be massaged for these tires to clear. I believe they are 26.7" tall with a rollout of 84.0" and the tread is 10.0" with a sidewall width of 12.20". The best measuring I could do was that with a 7.5 Draglite they would hit at the front of the inner fender well. Pro Stock John, have you or any other members ran this combination? I know I could put them on a 10 with a 6.5 back spacing but I don't want them hanging out in the breeze. I would like to order the wheels this week but wanted to check with ya'll to see if anyone knows if it will actually work. If you have done this and could elaborate on the modifications necessary I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Thanks

I really highly doubt they'll run the wheelwell being only 26.7" tall. That's only an inch taller than stock. That means they'll be .5" closer to the wheelwell than stock, which ain't much. I've seen plenty of guys with 28" tires and no issues (though they made have had to modify at that point.

15x10/7.5/26" stuff in my experience does not really touch anywhere, worst case the 28's will only scrub the front upper part of the fenderwell... If you are looking at the driver's side, the spot that can scrub is at 10 o'clock. Do you know what I mean?

I have 295/50-15's on my 'street' Bogarts. They're Pep Boys Futuras, cost like $71/each. (Bogarts are 9.75" with a 7.5" backspace, I believe)
Traction? Bwah. Sideways through 4th. I kid you not.
They fit fine. No bumping, rubbing, or hanky panky of any kind.
