The problem with 20" wheels is you have to run a taller tire, which then reduces clearances even more.
I'm in the same boat as you and am selling my 19x9.5 wheels and moving to 18x11 in the rear and 18x9 in the front to get some more sidewall and to put a 305 or 315 in the rear.

if your making 550 rwhp i would stay away from any 20 inch rim, that is just me though , i like having more sidewall,18s are the biggest i would go , i think they look the best and you can still get a decent tire on them. why dont you do a 17,15 combo black weld rts , that would look killer on your black bird. could look baller and perform ,best of both worlds imo

You are going to have major issues with putting a 20x12 wheel on a 4th gen f-body. You will probably have to do a mini-tub, offset lower control arm, and even then, you'd have to run a 28" tall tire to have any kind of traction at all, which is then going to cause havoc on your traction control and abs.

Factory tires are 25.5" tall, either 275/40/17 or 245/40/16 from the factory. If you want to run an 18" tire, you can run a 275/30/18, 305/30/18 or even a 315/30/18 and still be close to the same height. In 19s, you can run a 275/30/19, or even a 305/30/19, but that starts to get taller than factory and you can run into wheel speed sensor issues.
I would give up on trying to run 20s, but that's my opinion. I'm giving up running 19s and I've had 19s for 7 years now and I just can't get any traction at all with them, so I'm going back down to an 18" combo.
