Default I'm getting my wheels powdercoated...

to gunmetal grey or cyber gray metallic

Problem is... my wheels are chrome.

I need to strip my chrome first and I called a few places that does powder coating and two shops told me two different ways to strip the chrome...

One is electroplating to strip the chrome and the other shop wanted to do the shot blasting...

Which has better results on stripping the chrome?

are you doing factory 10 spokes ? and would aircraft stripper work like it does on clearcoated rims?

If there in good shape I would sell them, and pick up a set that has seen better days.

nah, it's repo C5Z06s. I don't want to deal with DYI'er with a lack of place to do it. IIRC, chrome wheels are plated not painted so I'm not too sure about aircraft stripper method.

They are in good shape but being here in england, it's harder to get another set of wheels vs back in the states besides no matter how much common these wheels are in the internet, it's fairly rare here on the streets so I like them.

Aircraft stripper will not work. I sprayed a set of old chrome exhaust tips I wanted to paint and it did not do a thing to the finish.

Does the powder coater do blasting?

A friend of mine on another site did strip a pair of chrome ten spokes with aircraft stripper. Took forever and never got fully finished but IMO I think its possible.

If you could have them sand blasted and then walnut blasted that should get you to where you need to be. Have you tried aceatone?

Having them blasted is your best bet. The powder coater should be able to handle that

Yeah, I got a powdercoater that will do the reverse electroplating (for the lack of better word) with my wheels then he'll PC it with gunmetal grey.
