Sure can. I had some 17x9s widened to 11s. Wheels America did mine, $200 a wheel.

Keep in mind that widening wheels moves them inward, it wont make the wheel stick any farther out.

Thats true BUT in most cases if you widen stock wheels to the back of the wheel and bolt them back up to a stock axle it will require a spacer. Thus it will appear that the wheels stick out further.

Yes you are correct that the wheels wont stick out any farther but you will have to stick them out farther to make them functional on the car.

BTW I love the white and blue on your TA, and that blue bottle compliments it very well.

anyone heard of or personally experienced any problems with widened wheels? I'm seriously interested in getting some C5 Z06 rims and want 17x11 on the rears... wish the damn rims were made that size but, no such luck. only 17x9.5 and 18x10.5. I may do this but want to make sure there's no issues after having it done. I read a snippet about the wheels are drastically weakened on the weld and there's a strong possibility of the weld failing from shear force like hitting potholes and such... bogus info? Or, legit reason to worry about?

I had my wheels narrowed by wheel works in nj. No problems at all. They are the car now. I mount and balanced with .25 on one and maybe a little on the other. Very happy.
