I was just wondering about this same issue concerning my TA's wheels. Since they are clear coated can a compound like Meguiar's Ultimate Compound be used effectively on them? Im probably going to strip mine soon with aircraft stripper like a lot of people on here have done.

Before I took them off, I just used soap and water on my WS6 speedlines. Just wash them regularly. I suppose you could wax them.

If they are clear coated then treat them like paint. Try a test spot with some polish and see how it looks. If you need more correction then step up to a compound. You can use the same sealant you use on your paint.

Adams Quick Sealant lasts about 3 months. It's going to be phased out shortly due to VOC's. Meguiar's has brake dust barrier but that has been discontinued. That is more durable than Adams.

If you really want the ultimate protection you can invest in a coating. Detailer's Pro wheel coating is affordable.

They will never be as shiny as getting aircraft paint remover and stripping off the clear. That's the way to make them really shine. But, be prepared to polish that aluminum more often. Worth it IMO

Keep them sealed and you shouldn't need to polish as often.

If they are starting to do this, then the clear coat has failed.

No polish will remove that.
