Angry Lug nuts sheared off wheel studs? Z06 problem!

Just got some chrome Z06's off e-bay, from Tomzwheels. The box says Factory Reproductions, Ontario Calif (box says made in China). When they tightened the lugs it broke off the wheel stud Each front wheel & the back passenger side has a broken stud! Has this happened to anyone else?
Tire place said the wheels must have been mis-drilled, so when torque was applied to the lugs the stud snapped. Defective wheels? or defective lug nuts? TomZwheels said they never heard of this happening, Factory Repros said sometimes on Camaros the hub or back of wheel needed to be scuffed (with a file) for proper fitment. I need some help please! I dont want to have a set of $850 boat anchors . Thanks....

Never heard of such a thing . . . did they over torque the lug nuts???? Only 100 ft/lbs.

did you remove teh little c clip that holds teh rotor in place? That could cause it to not seat right...but I still dont see how that would cause the stud to break

very possibly they just mis threaded the lug on the stud and then with the air tool it sheared it off. This is 99% the problem. The wheels werent drilled wrong.

It is very easy to overtorque or cross thread the lug nuts. I'm sure one or the other is the problem.

The lugs were not overtorqued. I saw one break myself, the tech was using only 80 ft.lbs. I'm checking into something else (machine shop has them now). Wish me luck!

Finally got the Z06's on!! A machine shop had to take metal off the inner part of the wheel( set me back another $120), but at least they are on now. Factory Reproductions express mailed me a set of lugnuts. I upgraded to some Kumho MX's also. They do look nice!!! Now I need to do something about those calipers.
