Default 28X11.5X 15 ET Streets

Will 28X11.5X 15 ET Streets fit my 15X8 Weld Prostars? Will there be enough clearance for the ET's not to hit the car? Thanks!!!

MT recommends a 10" rim for that tire. If you put it on an 8" rim.. it will be very tall.

BTW.. I'd suggest looking at a 275/60 15 MT Drag Radial

What would be a good size ET Street or Drags that would fit my 15X8 Prostars?

a lot of guys run a 28x10.5x15 on a 15x8 rim. but like WILWAXU said, it depends on gears, trans, n20/fi/na, etc.

It's a stock transmission w/ 3.73's, stock internal and bolt-ons. Within this month I'm going with a TCI 3500 converter and a Strange 12 bolt w/ 4.11's.

go with a 28x10.5x 15in MT ET Drag on a 15x8in rim...are going to spray it?...i'm assuming with a 4.11 gear you are not.

maybe I a looking at things wrong here... on the Mt website under drag, and then et streets, the above size tire is in the same column as the 8 inch rim. Where are you getting your info on this. I am no expert by any means and am wondering since this was the rim size and tire that I was about to purchase???

For an ET Drag, MT website recommends a 10" rim with the 28x11.5 15's. They also recommend a 10" rim for the 275/50 15's (26x11.5) Drag Radials.

But, your right about the 28x11.5 ET Street, site says 8" for them and the 275/60 15 (28x11.5) Drag Radials. Oddly enough look at the thread width for those too..

My experience with the 26" tires blinded me . The 26x11.5's on 8" rims did not work very well.. they balloon up, which decreased thread width and also increase height. Results, less contact patch and higher gearing.

I'm a fan of the 28.0/9.0-15 ET Drag on an 8". Measured height is a hair over 27" tall.

Just to clarify, the 28X11.50-15 ET Street you mention earlier will work, as pointed out above. It's closer to 28" measure height. Sorry about the confusion

Also, don't forget about Hoosier. They have a couple different sizes in QTP and slick's in a 27" tire.

1- stock engine?
2- power adder?
3- needs to be DOT?

28x9x15 ET Drag works great on a 15x8 rim.

well, since this thread has already been started, I'll ask my question here. I have a 95z, with a moser rear and 3.73 gears. I currently have hossier qtp 27x10.5x15. If I go with the mt et drag in a 28x9x15, will that be pretty similar to the tire I have now? Can I get any more rpm or mph in the quarter mile? Is the mt et drag in that size better than my hoosier. I'm also going to be swapping to a th400 and a brake with a150-200 shot of nitrous. Will the mt sit and grow about the same height as my current hoosier? thanks guys

hmm what do ya'll thin about running a 4.10 gear with a 28 inch et street.... im spraying ofcourse and want about a 373 ratio... but by doing the 4.10 and then running the taller tire and taking the gear out, i know i have enuff sidewall to hook up while infact running around a 373 right? think on a gear calculator site it came out to be a 3.84 ratio which would be fine for spray id think and good for n/a as well...

just dont wanna buy a 26 inch tire and 373's and then not hook once i add in the cam and spray the 150 shot with a bigger converter and more gear ya kno?

i would recommend sticking with a 3.73 gear and 28in tire if you are going to spray it in an automatic.
