just curious to see what tires you guys use when doing some high MPH pulls like above 170ish
ive been using traction tires like nittos and et streets and am not happy with the sway or floaty feeling when im at 160ish
the et streets are bad above 100ish
what do you guys like?

I run 275/35/18s up front, 295/35/18s out back.
I only run Michelin tires on the street. Currently I'm using their Pilot Sports. I like them so much, I'm going to buy another set after I finish roasting these off.
I like BF Goodrich Gforce TA KDs as well. The Michelin is a little more expensive, and better all around IMO.
I hate the feeling of my BFG drag radials on the street. They must be pretty scary at 160

i havnt had my ET streets above 107 they swayed enough then, hate to see when im running faster traps, i was low on air pressure for traction (12-15psi) probably more would help. those type of tires definatly wont be my choice for doing high gear pulls.
i see you have a 18" rim, right now i have a 16" but will prbably go to a 17" for stability.
any people here do a high end pull with a 16" or 17" rims? with what tires?

I run Nitto 555RII's. I've only been up to 150mph with these since I ran out of rpms. I've got 4.10's now and I think I can only do 125 or so. ![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
these tires grip very well and handle corners at speed with no problems.

I run Nitto NT555s up front 275/35/18 and Nitto 555RIIs in the rear 305/35/18 they are very stable at 150. We will see how they are when I get my turbo motor in there and can actually pull 170 or so with ease... I think you just need to get a lower profile tire honestly.

My Kumhos are Y rated for up to 186 MPH, I noticed a lot of the top speed guys are running these also. I want really bad to make a trip to the Texas mile to see what the car will top out at.

I went 146 on 17x11 GS-D3's. I started to get some aero-float
at that point so backed out of it (still accelerating strongly!!
). The tires were rock solid, though.
The bad part is that the 17x11's want to follow every groove in the road. But that's due to the width, not the tires.

On just wondering what i can do to cut out that floaty feeling im getting.
i see not to many people are doing these runs on a 16" rim, i need to move up to a 17"

I run 255/40/17 up front and 275/40/17 out back. Tires are Sumitomo HTR Z II. I make several 140 runs a day with no problems at all.
