SLPs handling bad?

I have a set of SLP Firehawk rims and tires. Ever since I put them on, I noticed how differently they handle. They grab the grooves in the road alot more and when I am braking, the steering wheel shimmies back and forth about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch. Obviously the bumps in the road are a little more noticeable, but the mild shaking? I had my tires rotated and aligned and balanced a few months ago, but it didn't seem to help. Is this just the way they are? Or do I have a problem at hand?

The shimmiing might be warped rotors or the start of them getting warped. Wide tires will follow grooves in the road and depending on the road might be really bad. I've gotten used to it so it's not a big deal.

get your car aligned, your tires ballanced and check for hot spots on your rotors (a vibration when you brake from 60+)

wider tires follow rusts much worse than narrower tires

Check your tire pressures and your alignment . .

You have warped brake rotors . . absolutely nothing to do with the wheels and tires.

Thanks for the responses. That sucks if my rotors are bad, the TA only has about 18,000 miles. But if they are bad, looks like I will have to get some fancy aftermarket ones.

My rotors on my SS warped at about 11K miles. Luckily I still had warranty and took it in and they turned them and fixed the problem. I was really hoping for new rotors though.

I'm on my second set of rotors on my formula. I also had the same problem with the T/A I had before. I think f-bodies naturally have a tendency to overheat stock rotors.

Your rotors get warped when you ride peoples asses cause you are constantly braking

They get warped because they are crap from the factory. NUMEROUS people have complained of warped rotors on the 98+ Fbodies, even people who drive them "normal".

I haven't taken the car above 80-90 in a long time, and when I do I gradually stop, no hard braking. I guess I will take it to the dealer and have them check on it.
