Question BF Goodrich TA KDW or Nitto NT555's?

Which Tire Would You Rather Have, Best Wear And Performance Wise? Or Overall Which Is The Better Of The Two? Thanks

I liked my KDW's the hooked alright on the street and were easy to drive in the rain.

Nittos, great in the rain, have 100 treadwear rating, so they last a while but this means they dont hook up nearly as good

BDGs wear down fast, but hook very good.

it depends on how often you want to buy tires. id say the BFGs would wear twice as fast...

I don't know what the treadwear rating on the Nittos are, but BFGs are 300 which is pretty damn good for that ype of tire.

Jusr looked it up, Nittos have a 300 treadwear rating as well.....So they will wear about the same.....

Anyhow I would choose the KDW-2s, I like the tread design better and Nittos are notorious for running "thin"

I had the Sumitomo HTRZII's (wicked cheap) and they're great for the price, but now that I need new tires I'm decided on the KDW's

kdw tires for sure. stronger sidewall, wears a little less, and the design is pretty cool. if you can find them in your size the kdw2 is a really cool tire also.

The lower the number, the faster the tires wear. 555r (drag radial) is the one with the faster wear.

If you want a good street tire, skip both and get the Eagle F1 GSD3. It'll outperform both hands down, rain or shine. Only like $20 more per tire at tire rack.

Amen. I thought this was another thread comparing drage radials to street tires, in which case its apples to oranges in my book. If you have your heart set between the KDW and the Nitto 555's (not drag radial) get the KDW's. If you are comparing the drag radial, then you have to figure out what your priorities and aplication for the car are.

I own the KDW II's and they are the best tire I have ever rode on. They are AWESOME in the rain and dry conditions, they don't wear fast and they look sweet.

I've had several sets of Nittos, and they are a good tire. The KDW2 tires I previously had were even better. Nice traction, quiet on the road, and excellent in the rain. Killer tread pattern too.

Are the KDW II's available in 17's yet? Last I checked they were only available in 18's or higher. This was about 2-3 months ago though and I heard they were going to be making them in 17's. I'm currently running the kdws which I like but I would love tread design better on the II's.

Here is a link to the KDW/KDW2 (referred to as NT for new tread)
http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/asset...rce_ta_kdw.pdf

There is not many NT tires in the 17" sizes, mostly TT (traditional tread)

Don't be disappointed like me, spend the money on KDW's (either tread) or the Goodyears.
