Default Sumitomo HTRZ: Anyone have them?

I've read good reviews about the Sumitomo HTRZ's from tirerack and was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with them? I was thinking of getting them as my next tire because of the good reviews and the price.

Well, I have them on the front of my TT2s, in 275s, and their 315s on the rear. I have yet to have any problem in the rain as my car is a DD. The rears are almost worn out, and the traction is definetely an issue. But for the front, no complaints. I even like the way the tread pattern rolls around the edge of the tire, and basically how the sidewall is completely smooth...it just makes it look cleaner and they shine up better

There is a set of ZR1s on Ebay that I want with these tires on already, I am pondering how much $$$ I have to buy them. I wish we could get a couple of reviews. I am used to FireHawk 275, and now I am on F1's. I had no complaints about the FHs, so I am hoping for great results with these.

I had the HTRZ II's (similar construction, different tread) on my GT and they were decent good overall, but they were a great tire for the price

My friend had the HTRZIIs on his WS6. You really cant beat them for the price and they stick relatively well when they are new. After he put a couple thousand miles on them though they lost there stickiness and he was spinning alot more.

No they are real AFS wheels. They have several sets w/ different offsets and different finishes.

I've had these tires since I got this car last year, i've put 20k miles on them including track time, road trip up and down the east coast, and major burnouts.

for 99$ damn dollars a tire, you cant beat this. I had a harder time balancing them at first, but after a re-balance it was perfectly fine.

the 2.1 60' i managed on SS 10-spoke rims (see sig) is with 40% life left on these tires, and a launch on a **** clutch dropping clutch at 2750 rpms.

I've got them. For the price, they're hard to beat. I'll probably go back with them once I wear these out.

They suck. I hate them. I like a rim guard, these don't have them. They are very narrow for a 315 tire. The contact path of the tire is equal to the 275/40 khumo 712's up front. Traction isn't very good either. I have 50% or so tread and I spun them at half throttle in second gear today. Anytime I give full throttle in first I just sit and spin. It's like driving a normal tire in rain. I must say the rain traction is fairly good with these tires. I had BFG drag radials and they were terrible in the rain. I will be sucking it up and going with the goodyear dsg3's. Oh and the treadwear is weak. Like 10k miles and I don't spin the tires often. The times I spin the tires are when I punch it in second and a sometimes a little in first. Also when I shift into third and in the rare occasion I shift hard into 4th they will spin a little as well. I usually don't spin in first though, because it's pointless. I'm not into big burnouts and what not.

highly recommended for a dd; i've had them on for 40k miles and I could probably squeeze out another 15k if i keep the burnouts to a minimum. Little road noise, apparently good tread rating and my dd doesn't normally fishtail in the rain unless i want it to, so traction isnt a problem for me.

You can't be serious. 40,000 miles out of these tires I'm sorry but I find that very hard to believe. I've yet to hear from someone who even got 1/2 of that out of them.
