Default Goodyear F1 GS-D3 vs Nitto 555

First off I know that the GS-D3 is pretty much the best street tire as far as all around performance goes, but I was just wondering how the Nitto's(not the drag radials) stack up against them. I am going to get 4 tires and the nitto's are about $200 less for the set and I was just wondering if the difference in quality is worth the $$$. Thanks for any feedback.

I've had both. Just remember that if you're going with the DR's, they aren't going to last very long, and you'll be buying a new set again. They don't have much as far as tread depth goes, compared to the DG-D3's. I was really surprised at how much more tread the Goodyears had.

In Bakersfield, go with the 555. I'd recommend the GS-D3 if you were in an area that gets significant rainfall, but you're not.

Im not talking about the drag radials I am talking about the Nitto NT 555 extreme radials. The drag radials are 555R's I believe.

Anyone have experience with both tires. If you could chime in that would be great.

Unhappy reply

both are good but the nittos are cheaper. i have hade the nittos on my old 91 built 5 speed mustang and with the dunlops it hade when i got it used to light up the tires but with the nittos it just chirped a few times and hooked.
so i would get the nittos but i all about what you want and your wallet.
i got falken grb 451's because they where cheaper but the same day i kicked my self in the sack for not gettin the nitttos plus the look good.
