What did the KDW 2s get you price wise for and what sizes did you get?

I have the KDW II's and it is the best tire I have ever owned and rode on. In the rain they are awesome, dry traction is damn good. I have been in a car with the GSD's and they were nice tires, they let you know when you were reaching the traction limit very easily and felt good but not as good as my KDW II's.

I work at Goodyear. GSD3 is a really really nice autoxxx tire. It can corner and turn on a dime. That tire will stick to anything. But plan to pay a lot and buy a new set after 10k miles. Hopefully you can get some in your size, Goodyear factory workers just came back off of strike. There are so many tires on national back order it's not even funny.

"p00rkz"....Yeah its funny you said that about the goodyears. My buddy works at a tire shop and he says the goodyears wear out fast also but they are a good tire if you dont mind replacing after 10-15k depending on driving habits. I saw a line of Goodyear trucks leaving the plant in my area the other day and I just had this urge to rob one hoping it'd be full of 315/35/17 GSD3's. Then everybody on the board could get some tires dirt cheap!! Anyways, its all a matter of preference for what you want out of a tire. I on the other hand, still cannot make up my mind on which tire to get!!

I've had GS-D3's for two years and 20k mi so far....they will go 25-30k being driven extremely hard. Traction is amazing. My car is a 2000 Formula with 245-50r16's, oem springs, upgraded sways and shocks. I run all tires at 36-38psi to help stiffen-up the handling. Wear has been even and slow. Best tire I ever had.

I think the GSD3's are great. I've never driven a car with KDW's but the Goodyears are definitely better than Bridgestone Potenzas and Michelin Pilot's.....In the rain the GSD3's really are amazing. Just expect a slightly harsher ride with these tires and try not to be too aggressive with the car until you get some heat in the tires as they are a handful when they are cold.

Am I the only one who has actually owned both?
I had KDW (not KDWS...we don't have much call for a snow tire in Houston) tires on my stock 16" rims. I loved them. Great tred design (I had the original KDW, not the KDW2 that looks like flames), excellent tread wear (aside from my poor front end alignment, which I obviously don't blame on the tires), GREAT wet traction and low noise. If BFG made a KDW in a 315/35/17, I would have bought those instead of the GS3D's.
That said, when I switched to 17x9.5/17x11 rims, I got GS3D's on all four corners. It's not exactly an apples to apples comparison, since going from a 16" rim to a 17" rim means going to a shorter sidewall (not to mention going to wider wheels and tires), but I'm in no way dissatisfied with the GS3D's. I liked the tread pattern of the KDW better, personally, but the tread design on the GS3D isn't bad either.
Like I said, if BFG made a KDW in 315/35/17, I'd be running those. Just my $0.02.

GSD3's are the best tire I have used when it comes to wet traction. Some tires are great when the roads are dry, but when one drop of rain hits the road they are like glass. The GSD3's have almost equal traction once the roads get wet. Obviously they give up a little traction, but the split between dry and wet grip is the best I have used.
Yes the ride is slightly harsh due to the sidewall stiffness, but the cornering is excellent(wet and dry). As you approach the limits of the tire, it breaks traction very gradually, it is far from an on/off switch when cornering. I also expect to get about 25k miles out of my set.

It would be cool if there was a without a doubt winner on this because I am struggling to get traction and I am kinda looking for tires. I say kinda because my buddy told me a wider rim on the back with a wider tire would help. So I might get rid of the cragar S/S and get something else.
