Default 17x11 and 315s questions

Hi guys,

Those with 17x11's that are still stock ride height and running 315s.

Did you have to beat the everloving **** out of your wheelwells to get the tires to clear? I am guessing you have to roll the fender lip but I was wondering about the bumpstops and wheelwheels.

Anyone have pics of 315s from the back of the car and from the rear/side angle on a Camaro?

Those with TT2 17x11's did you have any big issues? I know lowered cars need work but I am not sure how much work is required with the TT2s at stock ride height.

Chris

I put the TTIIs 17x11s with zero problems. No fender rolling, no BFH the fender well. Nothing. I had to grind the rt front brake caliper bracket some as it was rubbing the wheel. I have no rubbing issues witht the front or rear tires. I have the Sumitomos on the rear for now(couldn't get the BFG). Here are some pics

Go for it!!!

Excellent thanks. Do you find the 17x11s stick out too much or do you like how they sit? Do you know how much the wheels and wheel/tire combo weighs?

Cheers,
Chris

At stock ride height, I didn't have to do a thing. When I put my Hotchkis springs back on, I had to pound the inner fenders, roll the fender lips, and cut the bump stop brackets back.

I am lowered 1 inch with BMR springs and with Nittos I didn't have to do anything but trim the bumpstops about 3/16" on both sides after I centered the rear with an adjustable panhard bar.

Mine have the bumpstop brackets cut off with the trusty ol torch, and also had to have the fenderwells beat in slightly on the passenger side.

No rolling of fender lips here.

Chrispy I am running the 36mm offset zr1's with 315's. Car is lowered with the eibach pro-kit and I haven't done ANY inner wheel well mods and theres still more room to go. I did have to roll the fender flat. Tires stick in about 1/2" on each side. However on a camaro that might stick out. Not sure. It's really a "perfect" fit on a firebird.

I think they are supposed to fit better on a Camaro than a T/A right? I think I remember some places listing the 36mm offset as fitting the Camaro only.

I have had both offsets and currrently have the 36mm on my Formula and rolled the lip. I highly recommend this over the 50mm offset, it comes sooo close to the inner fender wall. With the 36mm, you never have to worry about rubbing anything and it looks better IMO, if you get either offset and don't do BFH or lip roll, you'll rub something eventually.
For instance, I was all set until three females wanted to ride in the back seat and my tires got shredded when I hit a few bumps. I rolled the lip and fixed that. Even if you don't ever have passengers, you might want to move some stuff some day and when you load it up, you're gonna be in trouble.

It's hard to explain to people that your trunk AND rear seats are just for looks.

Just my .02

You know you need an adj panhard bar right?
