Default Any body have problems with their bogarts fitting because mine dont

Tried mounting my bogarts today and to my suprise they don't fit. From what I see in order to make them work I will have to grind the calipers a little. Front and back calipers. I don't have problem with grinding them that little bit. I do have a problem with paying extra for wheels that you are not supposed to grind and have to. If any body knows anything I don't please inform me. To my knowledge I am doing everything right. I'm using weld 12mm 1.5 lugs.

Here are some pics I took of where its grinding.

I had problems with the center caps being a little too big & causing the wheel to not sit true on the brake rotor. Did a little grinding on the edges & all is good. Hope this helps

That sucks man. I would have also assumed that you wouldn't have to touch a grinder to get them on the car. I thought that they were supposed to fit with no grinding whatsoever from all the threads I've read.

Most of the folks do not have issues with fitment. I'm sorry you have having clearance issues. I'm VERY surpized the rears hit too...that is a rarety. We do build them for the car. Unfortunitly, GM tolorances are very loose.

Occasionally, especially when folks are running aftermarket brake pads or rotors some folks have to touch up their calipers. The calipers float, casting varies from model to model and run to run. I've seen some calipers have a big casting line or even a large nipple sticking out on a spot. It is good practice to test-fit a wheel before you drive on them. You only need .100" clearance from any one point.

From the looks of it, as I mention to many...a hand file can clean up the area that is hitting. You can flatten out the small area that is interfering. Take the crown off the corner. If you have a belt sander, it will go very quick.

It's funny, even the LT1 built wheels sometimes fit on even the LS1's without grinding...especially the rears...these have ~1/4" LESS clearance then what you have right now. This shows how far off one car is to another.

If your rotors/pads are STOCK OEM, you must have some very thick parts compared to the norm. You'd have a heck of a time fitting any other wheel if ours were hitting.

Please call or e-mail me tomorrow if you need more help.

Steve are there any visible signs to tell if they LT1 rims and not LS1?

Yes. The center additional hub material is 3/4". I can see it is correct from the picture. That was the first thing that I was thinking before I even opened up this thread...that you mistakenly had an LT1 design.

Got em to fit. I did some mild grinding and the work. Luckily I test fitted the rears a second time I realized they didnt need any grinding.

Heres a pic after I got done grinding

I will have pics of them on the car when I get time. I test drove it earlier and everything seemed fine.

Yup. You just have thicker components then others. Probably the easiest thing is to just break the corner of the caliper...you should be able to do this with a hand file. You can see exactly where it is hitting. Just clearance them so you have .100" clearance. That's about the thickness of ~3 Credit cards stacked together.

I suppose you could grind a bit off your brake pads also if they are aftermarket thicker pads.
