Default zr1 17x11" wont fit on 99 t/a, help!

I just bought these rims online after researching for hours to make sure they would fit. So I mounted the rim on the rear and it rubs on some rubber piece( sorry I dont know what its called), and thats with the 315/35/17 tires not even mounted yet. The offset is 50mm. I believe thats correct for this car.
Does anyone know if you have to cut this piece off the car for these size rims and tires to fit.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

If you had the T/A on jackstands with the rear axle hanging free then the bumpstop will be in the way of mounting the wheel. You will have to raise and support the car by the rear end to get the wheels on, you'll have plenty of clearance then.

yup...bumpstop. if youre gonna run a wide wheel, u gotta jack the rear by the pumpkin. otherwise your rear will be hanging in the unloaded position and your bumpstop will be in the way

Welcome to the board!

Read your way through this thread, lots of info about 315s on our cars, most of it by me!

Hey, if you would have written as much on that topic as I have (nevermind all the PM's I answered), you'd start taking credit for everything too!
