Rear Wheels Too Far Set In, How To Get Them Out?
The '96 WS6 I bought has charcoal metallic Z06 wheels on it (17x9 or 17x9.5 all around). The front wheels sit pretty much like every set of front wheels I've ever seen on an F-Body. The rear wheels seem to be inset a little further though and from certain angles it bothers me. Is there any way to space the rear wheels out a little more (mainly a bolt-on adapter with new studs and all that is what I'm thinking)? If you took a plumb bob and went from the edge of the fender lip to the face of the wheel I think the back should come out quite a bit because of the rear fenders being wider than the front fenders.

i got 1" spacers for my rear wheels and they fit flush with the body. looks good. just torque the spacers down real tight. i've never had a problem with mine coming loose as some people have speculated.

If I went with only spacers I'd for sure get some ARP wheel studs. I dont trust the stock studs to handle that kind of stress.
But at 1" I'm sure your spacers bolted to the hub, then the spacers had their own studs that you bolted the wheels to correct? Do you have any pictures of that?

Dont trust the stock studs. I have stock wheels with no spacers and had three studds fail on me. Wheel almost fell off while on the highway. One stud is missing right now...I need ARPs
by the way, that GTO is sick

I recommend the 1in spacers as well, I havent ran a set of spacers in a while. But I used to run them. I always used stock studs and never had problems, but maybe I was just lucky.

I used this kind..

And I'd buy from EZaccessoriies on ebay. I've bought a few pairs and they were always at my house in ~2 days.

yeah i meant adapters. that's what i'm using. yes, they bolt to the hub and then the wheel bolts to the adapter. it has it's own bolts sticking out. it wouldn't hurt either to use the ARP studs. good luck!

Adapters are what I was thinking about too. 1" seems like it might be too much though. I basically want the rear wheels sit like 11"/315s sit in relation to the fender well but to keep the 17x9.5s that are on the car now (because AFAIK they dont make charcoal metallic 11" wide 17" Z06 wheels).

These are the spacers I use on my car to get the offset looking good on the rear.. 1" thick hubcentric spacers/adapters. I have the stock studs on mine with no problems but I had to cut down just the unthreaded portion of the stud to get them flush with the spacer.
Here is pic of where stock snowflakes with 255's on them sit on the car with the 1" spacers. I had ZR1 11's in the past and hated them they look good but that was about it. they are soo heavy its a performance loss. If I was to go 11's again I'd spend the money and get a lighter weight setup.

Listen to this, I've got a supercharged chevy blazer lowered 3" that I used to have corvette c5 wheels on. To get them to fit I had to run, get this, 2.5 inch spacer/adapters! Never had one problem with them and that's pushing it to the extreme. But then again, maybe I just got lucky too?
