Default Y2k Rims

I just bought Y2k C5 rims for my 00 WS6. I also bought 275/40/17 tires to go on the front. Well I noticed the stock tire size on the front Y2k wheels are 245's. Will I have a problem mounting a 275 on here?

The OEM Y2k wheels are 17x8.5. That's why the run the 245/45/17. Check to see what size you got. Maybe you got a 17x9.5 front. If so you're okay to run the 275/40/17. If you have the OEM size Y2K, then run the 245/45/17.

Don't do it! 9" is the minimum recommend width for a 275/40ZR17 . . . never force too big of tire onto too small of wheel . . .

Well I measured the front wheels and they are 9.5, The backs are 10.5... Which is weird cause they are OEM wheels. But the 245/40/17 thats already on the front seems to fit pretty good on the 9.5....

But we will see how the 275 fits I guess

If you are measuring the OVERALL width of the wheel you are measuring wrong . . .

Wheel width is measured BETWEEN the wheel beads.

OEM C5 Vette wheels are not that wide . . . Z06 wheels are . . . .

Well the 275s seem to fit ok but look a little wide. When I measured the wheel I was measuring the overall width and it was 9.5 so I assumed the 275 would be good. I guess ill know next time.
