Default 1" Adapter: Factory studs too long?

Already searched the topic but don't see a definitive answer. I have a couple sets of 1" spacers sitting around. I was going to use them with the Vette wheels I just ordered. I've read that a number of guys use them on their 4th gens. When I pulled the center caps off my current (lame) wheels, the factory studs appear to be around 1.3". Do you guys shave off the non-threaded protion of the stud?

Going to use open ended lugs. It just seems that they (the studs) will contact the rear of the rim mounting surface. BTW, the rims are now sitting on my porch, just gotta get some tires mounted.

Are the adapters larger than 1" depth?

I know what you are saying.. I had to cut just the unthreaded part off my stock studs to keep them from sticking out past the wheel adapter and contacting the back of the rims.

I used to have spacers with a set of wheels I had and I did the same thing as sixvi6-camaro. Just grind off the unthreaded portion of the stud.

since i am going with the CTS-V calipers and i will be tracking and autoxing the car. I want to get H&R 25mm adapters instead of the no name brands off ebay.
but from what i am reading on this thread, it seems to be a bix between the minimum sizing for wheel adapters is 1.25 inches, which is bigger than 25mm. so does it need to be greater than 1.25, cause I dont want to cut the stock studs down.

Here's you difinitive answer. YES, the stock studs will stock out and possibly not allow the rim to fit with the 1" adapters without grinding the stock studs. HOWEVER, SOME rims have indentions (OEM C6 rims included I beleive) that will allow the extra part of the stud to fit inside the rim WITHOUT cutting. It's just going to depend on the rim. 1.25" adapters DO NOT have this problem at all.

I HAD 19x10 C6 rims on all 4 corners with 1.25" adapters without any problems. I never took it to the track, but I had NO problem on the street with them...and I do like to "play" a lot. I just had the generic ones off eBay too...

Im running 1" adapters with our widened 00 WS.6 wheels, and like was stated, some wheels have clearance for them, while others, you can just grind off the end. It wont hurt anything to grind them.
