CRAGAR Rims?

Call me 'old school', but I had CRAGAR SS rims on my Super Bee many years ago and loved 'em. I'm looking for rims for my TA and no one seems to have CRAGAR on their cars. I don't think I've ever seen them on an f-body. I looked them up on the net, and see that they are comparebly priced, and fit Nitto, Khumo, etc. Am I missing something. Is there a reason I should choose something else?

Seems that most people who like that stlye go for smoothie IIs beacuse they come in 18s, or TTIIs just because
I have seen 17" cragar rims on an Camaro before. Hot Rod Magazine's car has them. Red SS w/a white hockey stripe on the side. I think they look very good. Get em' ![Devil](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_devil.gif)

Cragar used to make a series called the 980's for our cars, a few folks have them. Like a SS rim but the spokes were a little fatter.

The Forged Alloy Cragar SS's are different from the Cragar SS's on the GMMG Hot Rod Camaro. The Forged SS's are just like the original SS's with the stepped lip, but the new SS's (series 230) has a smooth lip, and looks more modern.

My Dad went to go look at a used set of the new Cragar S/S wheels for his 2000 SS a couple of weeks ago. He said he was about to buy them until he noticed "Made in China" stamped on the back. Are the Cragars really made in China or could these have been clones? It seems to me that they'd be made in the U.S.A. Dan

One of the main reasons I haven't been considering the Cragar wheels too much is because the widest I've found available are 9". You can usually get 11s in the rear for a comparable price in the other mentioned brands.
That's just my opinion though... cause I want the big fat tire look.

I've been trying to decide on rims for my 02 since I bought it over a year ago... I've narrowed it down to either (4) 18x9.5" 2000 C5 Vette rims, or 17x9.5 / 17x11 ZR1's. These seem to be very popular and for good reason... they both look great. You may want to consider these before buying anything... just my opinion.

I've been planning on getting the Cragar 230 series this winter...that was until I saw about 50 Cars with them on there at the Berger show a few weeks back. I'll probably still get them, but I like the Smoothies (darn near the same)...just depends on price I guess. I have heard many people complain about the 18" Cragar's rubbing with 275/40/18 set up, have to use 275/35/18
