Default Had my wheels widened

by Wheels America in Dallas TX. 214-330-9866

Ordered the wheels from TomZ and had them shipped direct to wheels america.. WHeels america received them, widened them and I received them just 1 week after they did.

They look GREAT!

$200/wheel + $20 shipping/wheel.

They just cut off the inner lip of the existing wheels and welded on a new lip that was 2" longer.

W hat kind of wheels are they? How wide are they now? Is this considered a safe thing to do for highway driving?

American Racing Rebels, from 17x9 to 17x11, putting 17x11 on all corners.

According to all my research, they are just fine to hold up to the toughest racing abuse, which would mean definately ok for highway driving.

The weld is very clean and well penetrated. I doubt its strength was weakend any less. I still think the weak point will be the wheel studs.

Never been a big fan of these rims, but I'm sure they'll look great on your car especially with 17x11 on all 4 corners.

I am setting the car up for handling, auto-x and road courses. If the car ever makes it to any of them is another story.

Come on Magnus, if you want true performance wheels you know who to contact. Those suckers are cast aluminum and heavy, you need some lightweight forged wheels

I'm a dealer for Forgeline, Fikse, iForged, DPE Forged, Boze.

Tony, I run the high $$$ stuff on my race car.

I still consider my formula and vette "driver" cars.. so they do see rain.. and with time as short as it is, I don't want a wheel I have so much $$$ in that I feel the need to clean it every weekend.

However, if/when I do want some fikse's or CCW's I'll definately contact you.

Speaking of weights, I just put one of these on the scale and they came in at 28 lbs. Curios, what woudl a 17x11 fikse FM5 weigh in at?

We'll see after I have tires mounted/balanced. Any imbalance should show up when they're balanced.

Those are very heavy. I didn't weigh a Fikse 17x11 (will get one this week) but my 18x10 DPE forged wheels were only 21 lbs. Fikse are lighter than DPE.

Keith is an abusive driver. Did you fix the scars of battle from the time you and Zach were slaloming the cones on 294?

hahahah oh man no i didn't.. I completely forgot about that. Those cones were not spaced very evenly... and at those speeds the short cones sure did come up FAST! LOL

That was good times. Thanks for reminding me John.
