Single 10" stealth box Vs. Dual 10" T top
How much better would a dual 10 t top box sound over a stealth box with a single 10. I know It would sound better, but would it be too much bass? Either way I would be going with type Alpine R's. Right now I have a type r and a JL 500W RMS mono amp. I was thinking about returning this if I go to a dual sub setup. What kind of amp would be good to run? The biggest 2 channel amp ive seen is only 300 W RMS x 2?

two different entities. Small stealth box gives a good fill and a big ported box will give you very deep bass. Ive had both, and now i prefer the stealth bc im not into all of the huge bass. But its all personal preference.

Dual 10" stealth boxes! I just like to know its there, but most of the time, I have my bass settings turned low so I dont have a headache by the time I get to work. Just another sign im not 18 anymore! lol

Im assuming your sub is dual 4 ohm. You don't want a 2 ch amp, ESPECIALLY to run 2. Get a mono either way. A sealed t-top box will not only be 3X louder, but hit lower because the woofers will have a lot more air space, and sound better on top of it. Its all just a matter of how much you want. If you want a lot of bass, go with the t-top box. Its that simple.

oh ok I see. So if my sub reccomends 3-500w RMS and my amp is 500w @ 2ohms I have the capability of running that sub at 500 or 100 w or running two subs at 500 RMS? Would a JL J2 500 be capable of this?

If you're only going to use 1 sub, that JL amp is perfect. If you're going to run 2, you need to find a mono amp stable at 1 ohm, which almost every mono amp is, and get one rated at 1000-1200 RMS into 1 ohm.

Ok I uderstand.... Im considering exchanging my amp for a different one. The reason being is I am afraid I won't get the bass I am looking for out of a single 10 in a stealth box. I might want to get two stealth boxes with 10s. If thats the case, 250RMS isnt gonna be enough to push each sub, then I am gonna take a price hit when I re sell my amp.....
Why not go with a 2 channel amp?

This would be a good choice. 500W to each sub at 1 ohm stable....

This seems like more bang for the buck. Same power but for cheaper and @ 2 ohms.

Mono amps are solely made for driving subs, are most are more efficent and have better low frequency output (depending on amplifier class) and most are more powerful. I would never use a 2 ch for subs.
You need an amp that will do ~1000 RMS @ 1 ohm, so that Alpine wouldn't be the best choice, especially because its not rated at 1 ohm. As far as the JL goes, that would be perfect. BUT.... even though JL makes good stuff, they are overpriced and you are also paying for a name. You can get a decent amp that is the same quality and will do the same power for less. The best bamg for buck amps are the MB Quart Discus amps and the Audiopipe AQX amps. The AQX's are better than the Discus and are about the same price, but they will both be fine for you. You can get an MB Quart DSC 1000.1 for about $175 and an AQX1000.1 as low as $150. I would go with the AQX.
