Default Wire color code and CDT sail panel speakers:

I installed my new speakers from Kee, and had no problems with the doors or rears. The sail panel is an issue.

My CDT speakers don't seem to fit. Diamiter is perfect, but they don't seal to the sheet metal and seem to be bottomed out.

I was able to get the screws threaded into the little POS clip things, but the sound is really poor, plus they rattle slightly. I've clearly done something wrong.

Also, I kinda ... guessed as the the color code in the car. Is there a list somewhere? I'm sure I got some of them wrong.

Any tips or advice?

Wire colors are in the Monsoon FAQ sticky at the top of the forum.

Couple of days. I'd expect them this week if I were you.

I think I blew on of my sail panel subs. Make sure you know the color code before you wire them in.

No, they are the same for all years of Monsoon systems. The speakers have red (positive) and black (negative) pigtails so you just have to follow them back a little farther to get to the harness colors.

I just put speakers in my sail a few days ago and here is what I did to make it easy! Put some foam tape around the opening to seal your speaker then get some self tapping screws and screw them into the panels. This way you don't have to mess with lining up the holes!! Much easier. Did you put any deadner behind the speakers? I just put some insulation behind the speakers. But with the foam and the new screw set up your speakers will not vibrate!!

That's great idea!! I dropped on of the clips in the fender anyway, (I'm sure that'll start to bounce around soon enough).

It felt like the speaker was bottoming out before it set onto the mount hole. Is that possible, or did I just jack somenig up?

Should it be sealed to the hole? Mine has several millimeters clerance currently.

For the deadner... Do you just cut a square, and stick it to the inner wall, opposite the speaker?

There is a hole that goes into the fender whell towards the back of the car I put some insulated duct tape over that hole and just cut a square of insulation 14" or so and just pushed it into the spot left behind the speaker.

Just use one pair or the other. DO NOT connect both pairs to the single set of terminals. That would be bridging the Monsoon amp and it is not bridgeable.

Advice of the year for me here. Thanks dude. Your idea worked as advertised. Bad ***!!

Thanks brother. You were right.

After these two pieces of advice, everything is good to go. I lucked out, and only had a single speaker wired backwards. Glad it didn't blow.
