The most likely cause of the problem is the backup light switch on the right side of the transmission (item #3 in the diagram).
Unfortunately, unlike many older cars, the switch is not adjustable - it can only be replaced. The switch has two wires - brown and light green. It should have power on the brown wire when the ignition is on and output power on the light green wire only when the transmission is in reverse.
