Radar Detector Mod/ Placement
Well i just got me a radar after 2 speeding tickets and decided to make a post on relocation and modding of your radar depending on what you have.
First off splice the wires from the stock 12 Volt charger and attack +/- wire, ( thick speaker wire will work) then crimp power to + then ground wire to the chassis - (anywhere will work)
Once you have that done depending on what you have mounting the radar put that in place then run the wires on the edge of the headboard all the way across to the side panel.
****** note if you have T-Tops take out the screws at the top of the panel where the t top goes on and take off the panel and work through that****
Once you have the wires ran run the power wire to your fuse box.On Pontiac i have mine ran to the HVAC so my radar turns on and off with the car so i don't drain my battery.
once you have it all hooked up the radar should run through the start up stage and there you go

I thought about doing something like this, only mounting the bulk of the radar detector somewhere in the nose of the car and extending the LED strip on the display into the interior and stick it on the dash somewhere.

If you have the V1 you can buy the remote module and attach it to the dash. I am not sure how the unit itself will work in the engine bay area though given that it has front and side sensors.

Corrected... V1s have front and rear radar antennas. They determine side signals by matching the input from the front and rear.
