Default I Pod Adapter to Stock Monsoon Stereo?

Hey All,

I am planning on installing an I-Pod Adapter to my stock monsoon stereo.... I was wondering if anyone else has done one of these set ups?...

I wanted something that I can charge/play my I-Pod on and still maintain the stock radio. I was looking at these two adapers. Any advice/suggestions?.... Any one used one of these & does anyone have an idea if it will work? THanks in advance.

By the way I have an ashtray plug in fm/transmitter & those things suck.

damn op ur just a little too late.....on ebay a few months back when i was shopping for a new radio, a guy was selling oem head units, that had replaced laser, al bulbs changed, and he actually somehow added an auxilary jack to it.....think he wanted 149 for it......could sold yours for 80-100, then picked up that one saving you 20 bucks over buying the other thing and much nicer

UPDATE: I installed everything as per the original post in my 2000 Trans-Am & every thing worked fine EXCEPT.... The light on my radio went out.... Any ideas what I might have done wrong, or how I may fix this?... Thanks.

Just went back out to check the stereo... Noticed that everything sounded fine until i changed the balance from left to right.... On the left... all speakers sound good... On the right... all i can hear is the front tweeter....

I had my radio out today to install an fm modulator for sirius
I was thinking it would be pretty easy to put an 1\8" jack in
and use the aux on the radio. It appear to be pretty easy
using the c2 pulg on the back only problem is there is no
connector for that cavity. see the pic and schematics.

guess I could open it up and go fron the inside

Did you get it figured out ? I'm afraid something must have gone wrong in the soldering process ...

@ bumpaD... Thanks for the concern... I noticed one of the connections was not making correct contact on the auxiliary input & re-sodered.. & got the sound back to the right side of the car....

But... The light is still out on the display screen where the time & cd/radio info is displayed.... After tapping it a couple of times, the light would come on for a bit and go back out.... Don't know if I might have messed up a connection on the display screen when I took it apart...

As for now... just been busy with work, so I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can open it back up and hopefully fix that display issue...

sounds like its not making good contact. I solder a bulb I got from radio shack and works great.
