Default New Stereo Setup Advice

Alright, so i just picked up a Sony DSX-S310BTx Headunit but honestly i am a noob at car stereo and have no idea as to what to get for speakers and a amp. I also want to put a subwoofer in, and i was wondering where i can get a custom box for it. I have been looking at kee audio and have found some deals but honestly dont know wich one to go with, or benefit me. I really like to be bumping when im in the road so any advice as to what setup to get within a 1200 dollar max budget would help alot.

Get yourself a real nice set of components for the front doors and a nice amp to power them. Maybe a 5 channel amp so your can run speakers and the sub from one amp otherwise you will need a 4 channel and a mono amp for the subs.

You can get a Stealthbox for the side corner or a box for 1-2 10s or 12s for the well. They even have well boxes that let you keep the t top storage.

well for the best bang for your buck, I would suggest figuring out how much you want in the way of subs, like would 1 10 in a stealth box be enough for you or are you a 2 12's kinda guy? once you figure out how much BASS you want then see how much you are in it with the box, mono amplifier and wiring and take whatever is left in your budget and buy the best setup from here http://keeaudio.com/fbodyspeakers.html that your remaining budget allows. I probably wouldn't just bypass the factory amp unless the sub budget came in WAY lower to afford a better amp for the regular speakers, keep in mind ALL of the Kee Audio packages can be run with the stock monsoon amp.

Agree with above statements...Get good speakers, don't have to be the best but don't go with cheapo's. But what you will notice the most is if you install flush mounted tweeters in the front window pillars. That is the single best audio mod I did, it brings the sound level from your feet, to right in your face.

Thought about using the stock Monsoon amp? I got Kee Audio's Level 3 package along with a single 500W 10" and it's plenty of power for me. I won't be shattering windows, but it bumps nice and I have crisp sound even at painful volumes.

Unless you are a complete audiophile or entering car audio competitions (do those even exist??) there really isn't a need to rewire your whole car, if the existing setup is still functional.

Yes they do, as represented by my 3 1st place (back row) 5 2nd place (middle) and 1 3rd place (front) trophies show.

doesn't seem to be as many events these days as there was back then, but they still do the ones at NOPI nationals and many others (just none near enough to me).
