ION Bluetooth Cassette Adapter...
The ION Bluetooth Cassette Adapter was introduced at the 2014 CES this year and I've been patiently waiting for it's release ever since! Looks like it's finally been released and mine should be on it's way according to Amazon.

My '98 came equipped with Cassette and 12 CD Changer and I use the PAC OEM-1 to get signal to my amps. I converted to a CD HU years ago, but I'm planning to put my stock Cassette HU back in and see how it does.
I'm going to leave the changer installed, but I'm looking forward to access to all my music from my iphone.
Anyone else planning to give this a shot?

...I was hoping it would be close to even Cassette quality once I got the ION Bluetooth Cassette in and tried it...not even close. My sub is x-over at 50Hz and the music coming through on the bluetooth cassette doesn't even get low enough for the sub to reproduce. I'll leave the CS HU installed since I still have 12 CD Changer, but the only thing this thing is good for is if I'm on a long trip, go through all 12 CD's, and just need more options off my phone...

No. Bluetooth A2DP cassette adapters have been out in general since 2012? 2013? Earlier? My room mate had one in his daily in 2013... Between the price, awful sound quality, and the hassle of having to recharge it periodically, it's only worth it if you NEED to stay with a factory cassette headunit. Pretty sure there are AUX input adapters e.g. iSimple that you can connect a Bluetooth A2DP receiver to, or AUX input adapters that already have Bluetooth A2DP functionality.
I just switched to a 2 DIN headunit. Much better, IMO.

I've NEVER liked the look of single DIN HU's in 1.5 DIN openings. I even ran the Alpine 1.5 DIN HU (CDA-D855) and wasn't happy with it's quality and 4V preouts...I just like the stealth look of a factory fitting HU I guess. My Z isn't my daily driver, so 12 discs are usually plenty, but every now and then, I do take it on a road trip...
