Also,, properly done crimps, are the proper way to wire vehicles, soldering wires to connectors will fatigue the wire right at the end of the solder and eventually they break off, UNLESS you back up the solder job with a heavy shrink wrap, or you only solder on the tip of. the wire to the connector and don't let solder bleed down the wire through the crimp. .
None of the aircraft I was around in the military used solder in the wiring harnesses either.. Just NICE crimped connectors properly done with the right crimping tools..
