Is there a wire that is hot only when engine runs
Is there a wire that is hot only when engine runs I am wondering if there are any wires that would be hot only when the engine is running.I want to use one to hookup a wideband.thanks. I have to ask as i dont have my car here with me.
In that case no there isnt a wire like that. All the wires will be energized with the ignition on unless there is a seperate switch in the circuit.A seperate switch in the system would be my suggestion to you.

only when the engine is running,and i think there is one for the evap system and the stock narrowband sensors.According to the diagram it is only hot when the engine is running.I will find out next weekend when i get the car out.

The fuel pump wire goes on only when the engine is running. But it comes on and goes off when you put the key in the run position. It would require a relay to run any thing off of it though.
