Default DRL help!

I just bought a 2000 Z28 and it has DRL's, and my lights and everything always go on, on there own. Is there a way I can rid the DRL's so I can manually put on my lights instead of everything goin on automaticlly.

I'm a little confused, maybe you can claify:

"I just bought a 2000 Z28 and it has DRL's, and my lights and everything always go on, on there own."

Are you saying they are always on, or they come on automaticaly at night?

If your DRL are the front maker lights only and everything comes on when it gets dark, that is the normal type of operation. I have seen something before someone saying they found a way to get rid of the DRL but I don't know how they did it.

If all your lights are on all the time, then something is not right.

No everything works the way it is supposted to. I just don't want my front parkin lights on everytime I turn the car on.

And the headlights turn on automatically when it gets so dark.

I think it that's what makes the FBody stand out driving down the road is the DRL's. I would leave it. But that's just MO.

Personally I dont like DRLs. I like to have control over my car. That includes deciding when the lights are on or off.

On more than two occasions, I have lost alternators while on the road. Both times it was night out. I was able to limp it home both times with hazards and no headlights. One time I was in the middle of nowhere, other times I have been on busy highways. I never would have made it as far with headlights on.

All I did was jumper a wire between the A and B connections on the C2 connection on the DRL box behind the radio. WooHoo! I can use my parking, driving and headlights all independently. I like being able to run my driving lights without the headlights on. I think that is the coolest. Its also cool when your around a large group of people at night you can run with the driving lights on and not blind people with your headlights.
