Default speaker cover removal question

I was trying to remove the speaker from the passenger side door. I can get the sides to pop out, but the top and bottom will not come out, I feel like I'm going to break something. So is there a trick to getting it off?

thanks,
Kevin

I pulled the door pannels. I don't think you can get to all the mounting screws with out removing them..

The top and bottom of the cover are plastic melted to the door panel. Some people have been able to break them free but most have cracked the cover. Removing the panel is the correct way.

ditto, I broke a cover before I figured it out. Besides, the speaker is not exactly behind the grill!

If memory serves you have 3 scews to take out, then the DP lifts up and out. Make sure you lift up before you pull out. The panel sort of hangs on the door that way..

I rotated the front up and the back down. This gave me enough room to get the speakers out. You can also move it around enough like that to dynamat..
