Who makes 6.5" subwoofers?

I know that Kenwood does (I have these right now) and Kicker does, but who else? My Kenwoods are only rated at 60 watts RMS, but my Orion 222sx amp is pushing a lot more than this through them, so I am afraid to blow them and would rather have something stronger. Am I left with Kickers as my only other choice?

My friend who did the install of my stereo has Kicker 6.5s in his 94TA and I know they sound good so I might as well go with these. Now I just need to find them for a good price in Canada, which can be tricky, since 6.5" subs aren't exactly a common find.

Kicker recently changed their 6.5 midbass/woofer to a newer model. Also, there is a JL audio 6.5 woofer, and Image Dynamics makes one too. I here the JL and Image Dynamics are a bit pickier about enclosures then the kicker. I think Orion used to have one, but I don't know if they still do. I have an OLD set of Rockford 6.5s, and they are not too impressive. Don't know if they have a current model. Boston Acoustics also has a seperate 6.5 you can get, it is basically like the one they sell in there sets. Oh yeah, and that Memphis company has a 6.5 model you can get too.
Don't know how any of them really perform since shops around me generally don't have them installed in anything. However the best 6.5 midbass I ever recall hearing was an old setup that was using Kicker's in the doors. Made me realize how bad my Fosgates sucked...

I am just using them as a midbass/midrange driver as they are x-over at 100hz currently.
Here is my system I just installed last weekend, although I'm still waiting for my Image Dynamics component set It sucks having no front sound AT ALL
Pioneer Premier DEH-P940MP Head Unit
Rockford Fosgate Power 550X (4 Channel) powering my rear and mid-bass fill on the rear channels and a set of Image Dynamics CXS6-2's on the front channels

Infinity KAPPA 462.5CFP 4"x6" 2-Way Plate Speaker as rear fill
Kenwood KFC-W1705 6 3/4" Woofer as my mid-bass fill

No trimming needed at all, they fit right in perfectly. I'm still running the Kenwoods but I haven't hooked up the Orion amp yet, my whole system is running off just one PPI 25x2 amp right now. I still think the Kenwoods will blow once the Orion is powering them.

So far, I've got the Polk 6.5" components in my rear hatch area. They are very shallow mounting depth.... something like 2.5 inches.

I now have my Orion 222sx powering my subs, and it's bridged to 2ohms mono and the subs are handling it nicely! I can't believe such tiny subs put out such nice bass! I'm very impressed! I built this whole system for less than $650 US, and it blows away the Monsoon!

The Kenwood 6.5" subs I bought are part number KFCW1703
And the more I listen to them the more I'm impressed how such a small sub can kick out such nice tight bass. You'd swear I had a pair of 8 or 10 inch subs in a box back there!
