Yes, they are. The best way to turn off the automatic headlights is to short together the two wires going to the sensor on the dash. This will make the system think it is daylight all the time so your headlights will never go on automatically (the switch will still work normally). The easiest way to connect the two sensor wires together is to crimp on a scotchlock connector across both wires.
