Default subthump amp rack

I'd like to custom build something similar to the subthump amp rack but have no idea how to attach it to the back wall. Anyone know how to stick one of those babies on there. I'm wanting to put my amp in the middle and a set of 6x9's across the top. 4" speakers just don't seem to get the job done in the rear and i have a set of polk momo 6x9's lying around.

Actually, SubThump doesn't post the install instructions on their site for a reason - they don't want people going out and duplicating and/or selling copies of their products if they haven't even purchased one to begin with.

To get the details you want, they include a special link with the rack when you receive it, that directs you to the instructions and the attachment details. You can't get to that link from their site.

They even request that you don't post up the info and share it with everyone for just that reason...

Like I've seen people asking others to measure their Stealth Boxes and send them the design/measurements so they can make their own. Basically, if you want to duplicate their product, you should at least put out the $$ and buy one for yourself to begin with - just MHO

I completely understand what your saying and I agree with you in regard to intellectual property rights. I would buy one, but it's not going to meet my needs. The unit itself is very simplistic and would be easy to build, but the best way to mount it is another story so I was looking for some insight on that aspect, and I feel that purchasing one just to find that out is a bit extreme when I would then be stuck with something that is of no value at all.

The subthump instructions just give you an idea of how to do it. They leave alot of room for creativity. I don't see why they make such a big deal about it. Its mostly common sense when you hanging it.

No, you do NOT have to cut the PS panel to install the Amp Rack (only have to cut that panel if you are installing one of their PS Subthump boxes. But it's of no consideration now - as they have discontinued the PS boxes and do not plan to make them again in the future).

There is no destruction of the car in any fashion, nor are there any holes drilled in the car following their instructions.

If one of you guys buys an extended style one just to find out how they are installed, I'll gladly buy your "used" one and the instal instructions for $60.

Here is a site that shows a different way of mounting an amp rack and doesn't infringe on Subthump's Mounting Method.

I have subthumps rack. It basicly sucks for an amp of any substance. It comes with loose instructions and is certainly not a brainchild or a qulaity peice by any means. As soon as I have time I'll be making my own out of steel or aluminum and not hanging it off the tailight screws. The stealth box was decent enough.

I've thought about it but wasnt sure I wanted to put hoes in the body. I'm going to try and make the center metal thingy work and brace off of it.

Dude we're talkin' 5 screws or just use 4 for each corner. You won't see them anyway remember their covered by carpet.

i just drilled mine into the back wall. used 5 screws and that thing has no chance of coming of. very sturdy. but i def wish i would have just built it because it is such a simple design.
