You will simply need a line-level adapter that that will convert the speaker-level output of the head unit to the pre-amp (line-level) input needed or an amp with speaker level inputs (aka "high level" inputs). You're much better off with the line out converter and a good pair of RCA cables though rather than speaker level inputs. This will allow you to tap into the signal at the back of the radio, and convert the signal to a low level or RCA output which will help to reject some of the noise that would be picked up between the stock radio and stock speaker. This will also allow for an easy hook up if you do decide to replace the factory HU.

I know everyone is trying to give advice, but the way to do it isn't by telling someone to do something else and ignoring his question IMO... He got the combo from a friend, and he has a stock HU and would like to make it work - so why not give him the answer he is looking for?

what model amp ?

if it's a newer infinity amp, you don't need a line level converter, as they can take speaker level input directly from your head unit.

Do a lot of shopping a WalMart? Considering that you have to spend about $45 in installation accessories (mounting kit, wiring kit, antenna adapters), not to mention tax and/or shipping, that's going to be some quality head unit for the other $55...

Get friendly with someone who works at Best Buy. Dash kits are around $3 with employee discount

Can probably get LOCs cheap too.
