Push button start
It covers everything you need to know, but I'm more concerned with using the mute button. I'm sure its possible, anyone have a schematic so I know which wire goes to what?
Maybe you can change the type of switch under that button, don't know. Maybe some kind of relay would work.

Go to the last song on your CD, mute it and wait for the CD to go to the beginning... it automatically takes the Mute off. Same goes with turning the car off/on. If you turned it off with it muted it will come back on when you start it back up.

So, unless you want to build your own logic circuit, you can't use the steering wheel switches for on/off or momentary circuits like you can with ordinary switches.

Trim plate - convertible top switch w/o TCS: 10260610

Switch connector pigtail: 15306189
Unfortunately, the pigtail is the most expensive piece so you might want to just make your own or cut one out of a wreck at the junk yard.
EDIT* Wow Whitebird, what part of J'ville you in? I was born there, and all my family is down there. As a matter of fact I am in Jacksonville right now at my grand mothers house. We are over by Orange Park, off of Cassat if you know where that is. I actually just bought my TA here this week from another member on this board. Small world!

I haev been wanting to do something like this for some time, but just never have time for anything....One day I hope though......Thanks for that link to wire that sumbitch in.....only question that I have about that is:
Does it by-pass the clutch safety mechanism? Does that make sense? You know what you have to push the clutch in to actually start the car.
Just wondering.
I haven't looked at the site but I doubt a clutch bypass is included. You have to realize that this is not a remote starter - it's just a switch designed to be used when the driver is in the car. You would still have to press the clutch. In fact, you would still have to put the key in the ignition for the VATS system. You could bypass that but then anybody who sat in your car could start it without a key. Somehow I don't think your insurance company would like that too much.
