HUD in an F-body? Is it possible?
This may be a dumb question but I was sitting there over the weekend looking at my buddies 06 Vette trying to figure out a way to get a Heads Up Display unit to work in an f-body. It would be easy to mount the unit in the dash but what exactly runs the HUD? Does it get it's signal off of the computer? I'm wondering if I could get one from a wrecked C5 and wire the tach and speedometer up to work correctly since the f-bodies have basically the same set-up as far as the electronic speedo and tach. Has anyone done this or does anyone know how they operate? It was just a thought.

I purchased the Delfi and the only thing sucks about it is that you can't see the display in direct sunlight, unless you put a piece of window tint on the windshield.
Finding the wires wasn't hard at all it took me less than an half an hour to find. Here is a picture of mine fiberglassed in my dash. It's the one located on the left side.

pontiac also had some HUD units in some of the grand prix models. they would look factory in a trans am. the switch to turn it on would even fit right in with the trans am interior. just a matter of who wants to take the time to put it together.

No , they dont. Is that what a windshield repair shop said? ALl that is required, is a reflective surface. Reflective tint amongst other things work well. Some factory units have the reflective tint in between 2 panes to make it seem like you must purchase a whole new windshield
