Default FP and water temp gauges not working

I just finished hooking up my two electric fuel pressure and water temp gauges and they are not working right. When i turn on the key, they go to zero and then the fuel pressure pegs at 100 while the water temp goes up to about 200. I have checked the ground and its fine but i did take the power wires for both gauges and put them together then hooked it to the power source. any ideas?

where did you put the senders? did you drill and tap the water pump or pass head? where did you put the fuel pressure sender?

If they're 1 wire senders they need a GOOD connection to ground...the water temp in the head should be a good ground...FP in the rail might not though.

well for your water temp(if it's electrical), you should have 3 wires: 1-to sender; 2-to ignition switch, 3-to engine ground

for fuel pressure(electrical), you should have 3 wires: 1-gauge ground to sender ground(also wired to engine ground); 2-to sender; 3-to ignition switch

well on my fuel pressure there is six wires, one ground one 12 volt another 12 volt for gauge light and three wires going to the sender, the water temp is the same except there is only two wires going to the sender
