Default Question about SLP Cold Air Intake or "flopac"

If I add the SLP Cold Air Induction or "flopac" as the call it, will I need to do the "free ram air" mod in order to install it???

Yes, But I would recommend looking at the SSRA or Chris1313 ram air set up as opposed to the SLP.

IF they EVER release it, Vararam is also coming out with a system for the 4th gen LS1s as well.

From what I read the chris1313 on average picks up 2mph in the quarter mile. Since my setup is completely new I can't really do any before and after testing. I believe there is a thread on it somewhere around here.

SLP's ram air doesn't extend all of the way to you air dam, making it much less effective.

SSRA on car:

You can also get the bottom "scoop" of the SSRA that is made to extend the SLP and FTRA kits. It looks like he only has it on ebay though.

Yeah the extension is 69$. Though...I wish they had the jaws version extension. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SSRA-Jaws-LS...95194b&vxp=mtr. That seems like it truly would gulp and ram the **** outta some air the faster you go.

I'd recommend anything but the SLP one, it picks up
a lot of heat at idle and jacks your IATs up by a fair
(timing-pulling) bit (unless you relocate that sensor).
And the rest of the "Flow-Pac" you could do without,
especially if you've already bought a lid.
