It's nice to hear that Pat is using LXL stuff on the exhaust side now.

Itll work great. Will make great mid range and top end as well. Wont suffer too much low end losses. Not much split because of ported heads. All round good cam.

230 @ .050 is basically the tipping point of giving up torque and drivability in exhange for maximum high end power.

That cam should be a strong performer. I had an almost identical cam in my old SS and it made 440/400 and 585/592 on a 100 shot.

It's really all in the tune. The new cam still has a very manageable amount of overlap. A good professional tune will make your V a joy to drive. A MAF-only tune with little work done to the air-flow and idle spark tables will have you doubting your selection. Get a good tune and you'll love it.

I'm wanting to order my cam now, and things have changed, I'm not doing the PRC heads anymore. They'll be stock 243's. Should I change the cam at all? Or just order it with these specs?

I recommend ordering the cam with the same specs and you can have your 243 heads ported in the future.

Have a look on these threads:

It will be just fine, you have good gears and compression so it wont be lazy or a dog down low.

I have a slightly smaller EPS cam in my car and it doesn't even act like it has a cam...
I wish I had gone bigger.
Youll be fine.
