How to get TB wide open
I just got it back from bo white. I put on & I'm tring to adjust the cable to pull the throttle blade open all the way. When I put it to the floor it only opens about 75%. How do I fix this?
Itried to adjust the cable going to the TB & when I start it it goes to about 2000 rpm's.

First check the bump stop and that your blade
goes to dead center when you work it by hand.
Next loosen and pull snug the cable adjusters in
the engine compartment so there is no cable
slack there.
If you still can't get it fully open, make sure you
don't have too much floor mat bunched up under
it and then see how much slack you have in the
non-adjustable pedal cable. That was almost 1"
on mine, I had to cobble up a long spacer with
vacuum hose, a slitted washer and some heat
shrink tubing.

If you have Cruise Control or Traction Control, you have an adjustable throttle cable. Bo and I adjusted mine by having someone inside the car, holding the pedal to the floor, then pulling the little adjustment cover off and pulling the cable tight, then replacing the cover. You'll see what I mean if you look under your hood.
If you don't have TC or CC, then you have to make a spacer like jimmyblue suggested. Hope you have the adjustable cable!

Hold on.....are you talking about how the t/bs dont open up 100%. If so you need to grind/notch the t/b. Just trying to make sure we are talking about the same thing.

After having someone hold the pedal down & adjusting the cable do I have to unplug the throttle position switch, to reset it. Because I thried what you are saying & when I start it, it just revs really high. It's like it does'nt return to the closed position.

I WILL GET IT FIXXED! I hae'nt had a problem yet I could'nt figure out. Thank though.
Anyone else.
I just did what jet-black said & it did the same thing. It would'nt return to closed therfor idle is high on start.
So I backed the cable off a bit & it idles better but the blade could open another 3/4''. Its 3/4" away from the bump stop.

I have had 1 or 2 guys have this problem but all have gotten it working right with adjusting the cable and/or throttle cable bracket. All of my bump stop mods are done the same way and verified after assembly so its not cut too much just in case someone was thinking that. Hope ya get it figured out as I think you will .

On my cruise+TCS car the cable run from the
pedal to the TCS pulley cluster is non-adjustable.
That's why you have to add a spacer, if none of
the other things pan out.
The adjustable cables, you want to make snug
with the pedal at rest, just short of actually
moving the throttle blade. You do not want them
to be in tension, that will jack the blade open and
mess with the idle. You just don't want slop.

I am sure, I do one at a time and leave them in thier boxes they cam in while I am not working on them. A mix up would not only affect that customer but another one that got his as well- not a good thing for the reputation.
