Why did you only cut out so little of the tray? It seems if you made it wider it would have a greater volume of air.

there is only so much space in there if you look, it would be hard for one.
It would have to narrow and then widen but i dont see it getting much more out of the tight sqeezze.

exactly what the other poster listed...there is only 1.5" between the radiator support and the front of the ac condensor...i made the intake a max effort with those restrictions...if you look at my intake that i have on my car with the ac removed that slot goes from 1.5" to around 3.5"...it is a max effort design for our cars with ac, should flow around 1.5times that of a FTRA or SSRA...havent run the numbers yet but that is in the ball park...

Here are some pictures of mine with no a/c condensor in the way ...lose 33lbs off the nose for the ac and gain this kinda flow... talk about win win

for the intake i made for jack and matt d the best way i found was using weather stripping under the black plastic radiator support, then to block off the front slit where the air used to come in i believe i used weather stripping stacked on top of one another...i think around 3 high, then if there were any other holes i could see i would just use some silicone...i mostly used all silicone and pop rivets for the intake i have on my car...

also dont forget to put weather stripping on top of your K&N filter or under you lid because they do not seal completely without it...especially on the black side of the lid...i had a freind who had a clear lid and you could see around 1/8" of daylight on the back side with no weather stipping...yikes...

yeah i know that is why i asked you when i made the other one but you said you wanted one like me dads...it is like starting off with a baby cam...now it is Trex time...

i gained 12rwhp with my intake over a FTRA...so not sure what you gained with yours over a FTRA...

If you get that intake too i would have any more tricks up my sleeve i will have to find something else to be ahead of the competition...

i kinda wanna compare both(yours to mine) at the track one of these day it pulls right out in like 5 minutes but i would need another radiator support to try it myself so maybe i will just put it in your car to test...

Yeah I thought I was getting the bigger better one, but no complaints. It works better than my FTRA. I would be interested to see what more airflow would do and if it would be worth it to swap on a SI or cam only car.

no i wouldnt recommend that because that would completely block the a/c and radiator...there needs to be some gap so air can get through...

The fan "on" temps could be lowered in the PCM to help that. Also, he could restrict the flow through the heater hoses so that more coolant flows through the radiator. These two things can help him if he's interested.

I hope that little slit is not the only place your air box is getting air in, if it is thats a heck of a restriction. also if its touching just that section of the air filter then that small spot will dirty/clog up first and fast making even more of a restriction.
