1999 a4 z28 vs 2003 m5 Mach 1
This happened about a month ago. I had posted it on another board and forgot about it until now.
Ran some guy in a sharp looking '03 Mach 1 Mustang 5 speed, he thought he was a hot shot. I will admit, his car did sound ****in mean.
We catch a light and are the first two cars, me on the right, him on the left. He threw me a couple revs to see if I would bite, I looked over and smiled. Light turned green, I casually roll a foot or so, then punch it, as does he. I put 2 cars on him by the time we got to the next light about a 1/8 mile ahead.
We stop at the next light, I look over and smile, he nods and gives me a thumbsup as I did as well. Then we went our seperate ways.
It was fun, got the blood flowing a little bit that's for sure.
Figured I would share in case you were bored.

Mach1s are pretty much a driver's race stock for stock in a LS1 fbody. soo..
I've seen lightly modded Mach1s and lightly modded lS1 fbodies race all the time. It comes off both ways. It's a driver's race.
So yeah.. silly.

Only people I've ever seen deny 2v Mustang can't run 13s consistently are LS1tech posters. We actually have a thread in another forum "discussing" this "fact"
You'd think by some of reactions I've gotten in here about my GT running 13.9s that I said 13.0 flat or something.
Funny stuff.
BTW a post from said thread.
Seriously, a 2v running high 13s is nothing new, or amazing.
No matter how pretentiously condescending you get about it.
That's why when I ran a 13.9, I didn't figure it was such a big deal. I know of others that have gotten 13.65/13.7s before. Had I done that, I would have been bragging. But 13.9s aren't anything to brag about with 2v GTs. Too many people get into the high 13s on stock GTs to brag about it.

i ran a 13.82/13.89/13.89/13.9/13.99 in my bone stock 04 gt 5 speed. and im pretty sure drgnracing did a 13.7 so either way its been proven. u could run a pass like that infront of some of those guys on LS1tech and they wouldnt believe it. sometimes i think theyre bigger nutswingers than the import guys.

You know it.
Yes I do, just don't tell anyone else.
Thanks! I'm basically stock: free ram air mod, de-baffled stock airbox lid, drop in K and N filter, stocky y with no cats and exhaust dumped before rear axle(no muffler).
Thanks!

machs are cool cars and decently quick, but i've never seen them as a threat. if both cars are manuals and the guy driving the ls1 launches\shifts properly, odds are heavily in his favour of winning. if he spins badly or blows a shift then probably not.

there have been fbodys that ran 12's, and they're considered 13 sec cars.
just because a few guys ran a 13 sec pass in a 2v doesnt mean it will always do it. that's if it ever really happened in the first place.

That's a HUGE difference isn't it?
(And yes, I know LS1 Fbodies have went faster, So has the 2v GT. I am talking about averages)
