My buddy just got a bone stock 05 mustang GT with a 5spd. He wants to run me tomarrow. I have 2000c WS6 M6 no cats, no muffler, ported throttle body descreened MAF, SLP lid with K&N, tune by Wait4ME Performance. He says he can beat me, What do ya think?

I have an 01 Z-28, and I don't think there is much of a difference from mine and the earlier year's.
The new mustang GT's are pretty quick, but if you can launch the car and row the gear's you will win.
That being said, it is a lot more fun running car's tht my be as fast or faster then you.

If your equal drivers you will win no problem from what I have seen out of them. I raped everyone I ever ran at the track while I was stock/bolt-ons only. Driver makes a HUGE difference though.

you will walk him. as for 01 cars being faster, no not really. the pre 01 models also ahd bigger cams to make up for the difference

race him and find out. thats the only way to be sure. dont forget your driver mod. that always helps.

I don't think you will have too much to worry about Two main reasons:

#1) WS6 STOCK is a low to mid 13 on averge (LS1), and you aren't stock. Stock S197s are mid 13s (at best) to low 14s.

#2) He just bought his car. Until he gets used to it, I would be surprised if he can break 13s.


Granted .5 sec is a driver's race, but you add in teh fact that he hasn't owned it for long, I would put my money on you.

I love it. You preach in the other thread not to base a car on one race, and yet, you say S197s will take on an LS1 because you have beaten some?

NEWS FLASH.....It wouldn't take a lightly modded WS6 M6 to beat an S197, especially STOCK.
