Default SRT-8 chargers all that?

People from around these parts have been telling me that these 4 door chargers are running 12.7 stock and there are smokeing c5 corvetts, F-body's and GTO's like nothing. Is there any truth to this? Will My LS1 have a chance agenst one?

They are quick off the line then die out. No match for a stock LS1

I cruise the charger forums quite often and the guy's that have taken their cars to the track are reporting times of 12.80's to 13.20's stock.
They are no slouch.

Look at my sig. The Magnum had two carseats, a stroller, and 3/4 tank of gas. Not an Fbody killer by any means, but no slouch either.

ok guy's, I'm a little confused. How is a car that run's 12.80's to 13.20's not beating a fbody? I thought fbodys are low to mid 13's and some will hit 12.90's? How are chargers not beating them? Are you guy's talking 1/4 mile or role races or highway races? Thanks,

A bone stock SRT-8 runs low 13's. It is possible to get one in the 12's on a good day. Once someone figures out how to get into the computer and get the throttle body to open all the way, the cars will get get much faster. Although I can't say that is fast, it is good for a big luxury family car. The car weighs over 4100lbs.

I raced a srt 10 truck when my f-body was stock, put like five cars on him ok more like 3.5 anyway after that he stayed pretty close, but still in my mirror, then when I had gears, hand held programer, and a lid I raced a srt-8 charger, he jumped hard like the first 20 feet, then I blew by him (he was pissed off too) anyway those things can move but what I have seen is like low 14 high 13, but none the less very cool.

anyway you have to look at our cars like this even an 02 is 5 years old, and yes they are great cars, but what you run into with anything that is starting to get old is the technology. look at the c-5 Z06 and the C-6 Z06, anyway what in am trying to say is if you what to keep up buy new or mod up the old one more. understand?

I spanked an SRT8 Charger so bad that from 60-85 or so I just shut it down! Still not bad for what they cost!

They will smoke a stock or bolt on LT1 & will give a stock LS1 a good run.

No chance of beating a C5 vette unless it was an absolutly terrible driver.

the srt8's come with a 6.1 hemi with 420hp/420tq. usually put 360-380 to the wheels. srt8 chargers are good for high 12's with a good launch, from a roll not so good being an auto. the srt8 300 is the faster one. they have seen as fast as 12.5 bone stock. from a dig the srt8 should be able to edge out a stock ls1.... but anything can happen on the street. from a roll is a different story.... the ls1 should have alil advantage if its a m6.

On the most perfect best day ever with a tailwind it might hit a 12.5 but I doubt very much. Its a heavy pig and I doubt very much its putting 380 to the wheels. Maybe on a generous dynojet. The best I've ever seen a one run was in the 13's. I like the looks of the 300 but the Charger is pig.
