Default Hotchkis Springs

I recently installed Hotchkis Lowering Springs on my 2002 SS. The car rides on 275/40 ZR17 BFG KD's.

Measuring from the garage floor through the center of the wheel to the fender lip I get the following results:

Front - 27 Inches
Rear - 26 1/2 Inches

To me this makes the car look like it's got a rake towards the rear. Is this normal for these springs? Could anybody get me some measurements on their Hotchkis equipped LS1 F-body?

Cheers

Have you put any miles on the car since the install(5 miles on less then perfect roads should do the trick)?
You did you reuse the rear upper spring isolators, correct?

I left the rear isolators out when I installed my hotchkis springs and the rear sat lower than the front. After I put the isolators back in the car looked perfect.

I'm using the stock Isolators, and I have a couple of hundered miles on since the install. From the links you posted 99Bluz28, it looks as if a few others have had this issue, some like the look and some don't.

HoLLo, your car sits exactly how I hoped mine would, nice even fender gaps.

I guess I have to either make a spacer for above the Isolator, or try my stock springs with the Hose Mod and see what looks better.

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated.

Same deal here, put the stock springs with "hose mod" on
the back instead and you'll like the look and the ride quality
better.

^ Looks yes, but ride quality... How is ride quality going to be better by removing the rear isolators?

I don't wanna steal this thread from the OP but where can you get the DMS springs at? Or have they stopped making/selling them?

I think what Jimmy was say-n is the ride quality of the stock spring is better & by removing the isolator the ride hight is lower with the stock spring!

Exactamundo. Progressive rears get harsh in a hurry.
Isolator doesn't have much to do with comfort, just
noise.

IMO, Progressive rates in the rear aren't bad on the street if you have a mild drop, or over 175 lb.in. final spring rates.

It depends on *how* they are wound. Not all progressive springs are the same. Hotchkis are progressive, they gain rate start to finish. Mine as dual-stage. One soft rate as a tender (locating) spring, and the actual working rate that is the only one in play when driving so the are actively linear rate. Most are meant to be this way, but if the "soft" end isn't done right is can come into play while driving making the spring act more progressive then linear.
