C7

What is there to say about the C7 Corvette that hasn’t already been said? Without beating a dead horse, we can all agree it’s a worthy successor to the C6 and a serious sports car that is putting the rest of the car world on notice. But how does it compare around a race track, in a drag race and from the driver’s seat against a 2014 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and a 2013 Porsche 911 C4S? Surprisingly well!

In fact, with racecar driver Randy Pobst behind the wheel it rounded Laguna Seca raceway in just 1:38.28-seconds, a mere .24-seconds slower than the Ferrari and .72-seconds faster than the Porsche. Before balking at the fact the Ferrari is faster, lets remember that the Ferrari is packing a 6.3L V12 that’s good for 731 HP and 508 LB-FT and also sports a twin-clutch transmission and a body that’s been sculpted in a wind tunnel–it’s serious business and costs four times as much as the Vette with a retail of $434,000!

As for the C4S Porsche, well it’s got a 3.8L flat-six good for 400 HP and 325 LB-FT wrapped in an unbelievable chassis with a twin-clutch trans and all-wheel drive. It ain’t cheaper either with a retail of $151,000! We all know that the C7 is a performance bargain with a base price of $54,000.

Without giving away the details of the video, have a watch and enjoy as Pobst puts all three cars through their paces. There’s plenty of power-slides and hot laps inside!
